No idea if you were joking or not, but that's correct. Applying for staff just for the rank doesn't end well, I myself is a perfect example. Having fun is the key rule not only for becoming a staff, but for achieving anything.

Apply for staff if you have enough time to spend on a game if it's one of your favorites and you know quite a lot about. Otherwise, you're only applying for the power and permissions coming with the rank (which is what the majority does anyway but just saying).
