Depends, if your friend is not a member of your island, he can only help with that's stuff for the first two weeks, after that you aren't allowed to share generators.

Keeping in mind, that this rule applies only when your island is participating in competition [payouts].

If your island isn't a competitive one, you can share stuff like generators, etc.
