[Bedwars] Can you activate redstone?

Ok, so I am making a bedwars map that I want to submit to Jartex and it involves some redstone but before I even think of creating a redstone contraption for my map, Can you actually activate redstone in bedwars?

Edit: I just re-read the rules so looks like I will have to think of something different. :/

as you said yourself, redstone is not allowed in any map submissions.
