Opinions of keyboards?

Opinions of keyboards? Do they matter ? Could you manage with a different one? Does the sound difference irritate you? Does the shape matter? Does the keyboard colour or lighting matter?

The only thing that matters is how long it takes for a button to be registered, or how long it takes to be read by the computer.

I use a laptop and fare as well as anyone else, tho I'd love a mechanical keyboard

Just like slowstab said, I use a laptop which has shit rgb keyboard but I don't use it for playing games. For that I use a Corsair one.

I think that keyboard response time is important, but if you have skill then you don't need an expensive keyboard. Also other things like sound and lighting are just a cool feature to have.

Agreed, Response time is the only thing matters

Linear switches suck (cherry red for example)
Tactile gang rise up
Response time doesnt really matter if its not like 10ms or something (mine is 1)
I find it hard to w tap etc. on short switches like cheap membranes, red switches so I use blues
Actuation force matters, lighter switches will 99% be better

I use Outemu Blue's and I'm happy with it, cheaper than cherry and most switches
Cherry mx blues are faster in actuation but if you can get it yeah why not

If you watch some videos you will probably hear these:
"Oh you should definitely get red switches because they are linear, so stabile, so light and it registers instantly so you wont have any delay"
"Linear switches for red example are BEST for gaming, blues are for tYpInĞ"
No. They suck. They feel terrible. They feel like cheap membrane keyboards. It feels like I'm pushing on a sponge. Overpriced. Overrated.
About short actuation time, IT DOESNT CHANGE ANYTHING. It doesnt make you do something faster or better at games. It definitely doesnt feel faster at all.

For much better feeling and lower price, get tactiles.
For me keyboards > mouse in pvp.
