First i get around 30 iron and have my number 1 slot to "v" and number two spot for blocks at "f" with the iron i buy a pick then axe then wool then start rushing try this and see if it works

your first and second slot should just be normal numbers, these slots are easy to reach using your fingers so instead you should use those keybinds for slots like 8/9 which are harder to reach

why'd you change ur 1st and 2nd slot? those are incredibly easy to reach. If anything "v" and "f" are harder to reach than 1 and 2 lol
