Not other players in your game (That is Global booster)
The boosters can be for XP or coins

Personal boosters boosts your personal Xp or coin gain.

As the players said above, personal boosters vary from what kind of it (exp, money, star, boss damage, etc.) and how much time the booster has. Right-click the booster (while holding it) then go type /booster and click what type of booster you redeemed and it should be working.
