No the top team does not get anything. Teams are for fun and people try to get on /team top. You can have ally's and your team can help you during koth.

With a team, you can capture koths, be able to have team fights without hitting each other, and having a special chat to talk with your teammates.
There's no reward for having the most brains, only the sense of accomplishment for being on the top. You can always suggest more ideas for KitPvP that involve teams to make the more useful!
