The Bridge Revamp & Queue Improvement
Suggestion Details:
Hello,
Recently, we saw a BedWars update, which had a noticeable impact on player activity. Even small changes—like adjusting the number of players required to start a game—significantly improved queue times and overall engagement. In comparison, The Bridge has not received any meaningful updates for a very long time (last update around 26/07/2024). Because of this, the game mode feels outdated and struggles with low player counts. I understand that The Bridge has a smaller community than BedWars, but that is exactly why it needs small, smart improvements to revive it.
Below are a few simple but impactful suggestions:
1. Reduce Minimum Player Requirement
Current Issue:
-> The game currently requires 18 players to start, which is too high for the current player base.
Suggested Change:
-> Start game at 16 players with a 60-second countdown
-> If players reach 18, reduce countdown to 15 seconds
Reason:
-> The Bridge usually has 12–15 players waiting, but never consistently reaches 18
-> Players end up waiting 5–10 minutes, then leave out of frustration
-> Even when it reaches 18, players often leave at the last second, resetting the countdown
-> This creates a cycle where games never start, killing the queue
Impact:
-> Faster game starts = better player retention
-> Players are more likely to join when they see games actually starting
-> Creates a “live and active” feeling instead of a dead queue
-> Encourages players to stay instead of leaving due to long waits
2. Kit Balancing (Minor Adjustments)
-> Some kits are well-balanced, but a few need adjustments to improve fairness and gameplay experience.
Balanced Kits:
-> Warrior, Archer, Alchemist, Blacksmith, Healer, Hero, Miner, Poisonman, Pyro, Sprinter, Spy, Swapper, Trapper, Traitor
Suggested Changes:
Berserk:
Reduce axe cooldown from 15s → 10s
→ Currently too weak for its price
Builder:
Remove or limit dirt blocks
→ Players abuse this to ruin map flow and gameplay
Butcher:
Reduce thrown axe damage from 6 HP → 5 HP
→ Too strong in groups (can instantly delete players)
Medic:
Reduce arrows from 32 → 20
→ Excessive bow spam due to lower cooldown
Stopper:
Increase all effect chances by +5%
→ Makes the kit more fun and viable
Tank:
Currently overpowered and frustrating
Suggested nerfs (any one of these):
Remove Protection enchantments
Reduce extra health (24→22 / 28→24)
Reintroduce Slowness II
→ This kit dominates fights and reduces skill-based gameplay
Vampire:
Increase regen on kill from 2 HP → 3 HP
→ Makes it slightly more rewarding and viable
Reason:
-> Balanced kits = fair gameplay + skill expression
-> Overpowered kits discourage players and reduce enjoyment
-> Weak kits are rarely used, limiting gameplay variety
Impact:
-> Encourages diverse playstyles
-> Improves competitive balance
-> Makes the game more enjoyable for both casual and skilled players
3. Add New Maps
Current Issue:
-> The Bridge has very limited map variety
-> Many community-made maps have been suggested but not added
Suggestion:
-> Add new community-created maps
-> Reconnect with previous Team Minigames members or builders
-> Even adding 1–2 maps would make a big difference
Reason:
-> Repetitive maps make the game feel stale
-> Community members are willing to contribute
-> Lack of updates makes players lose interest
Impact:
-> Keeps gameplay fresh and engaging
-> Encourages community involvement
-> Shows that the mode is still being supported
How could this idea help improve JartexNetwork?
This idea could significantly improve JartexNetwork by reviving The Bridge game mode and making it more active, engaging, and enjoyable for players. Currently, long queue times and lack of updates discourage players from staying, but simple changes like reducing the minimum player requirement and minor kit balancing would immediately make matches start faster and feel more competitive. This would increase player retention, bring back old players, and encourage new players to try the mode, ultimately boosting overall server activity. A more active Bridge community also means more consistent gameplay, better matchmaking experiences, and a stronger minigames ecosystem within JartexNetwork. Additionally, most of these suggestions have already been brought up before but were likely rejected due to the lack of developers available for The Bridge. However, we are not asking for constant or yearly updates—it's important to note that the last meaningful update was around 2–3 years ago, and the mode has remained unchanged despite still having an active player base. As part of the minigames community, we have been playing the same maps, same kits, and same gameplay for years without variation. This game mode genuinely needs attention. Even if map additions or kit changes are not possible right now, at the very least, adjusting the minimum player requirement is a small but impactful change that could instantly make the community more active and open than ever before.
