Since March of 2022, Mojang has constantly been releasing new Minecraft 1.19 snapshots.
Snapshots are public “test” versions of upcoming Minecraft updates that players can directly
download from the official Minecraft Launcher. Since then, players have discovered many
game-changing features, including new biomes, new mobs, and much more. Stick around as
we organize all confirmed major additions for the upcoming Wild Update.
Update Release Date
Although Mojang has confirmed a launch within this year, they have not specified any clear
dates. However, many players are assuming that the update will be released towards the
latter half of this year (based on the fact that the latest Caves & Cliffs: Part II Update was
released in November of last year).
New Biome: Mangrove Swamp and Deep Dark

The swamp biome is known for its lack of updates since its first release 12 years ago
(Halloween Update in October 2010). Players are very excited that the historical biome is
finally getting changed for once. The update will decorate the dull biome with mangrove
trees, mud blocks, and frogs. Mangrove trees will provide players with a whole new set of
wood blocks while mud blocks will add to aesthetics of the landscape.

The deep dark biome was originally set to release with last year’s 1.18 Caves & Cliffs: Part II
Update; however, due to delays within the game studio, it will be released in the upcoming
update. This rare and spooky overworld biome is home to a new mob, the Warden, and many
sculk blocks. Being an underground biome, players will be able to gain access to the Deep
Dark below y-level 0.
New Mobs: Frogs, Tadpoles, Allays, and Wardens

A new passive amphibian is joining the already immense team of Minecraft’s realistic mobs. In
addition, tadpoles will also be featured in the swamp waters as the baby versions of the frogs.
Frogs will not only be exclusive to the new swamp revamp but also be found in the existing
snowy and tropical biomes as well. This mob also has the ability to produce new blocks called
“frog lights” which will definitely become an alternative for glowstone and sea lanterns.
Allays.jpg

The allay is the upcoming helper mob that will collect items based on what players hand
them. By using a note block, players can also control drop locations of the items, possibly
being able to utilize it for farms. This cute little mob was voted during the 2021 Minecraft Live
poll, already showing its popularity among the community. From the information we have, it
may be rare as they can only appear in Pillager Outposts or Woodland Mansions.
Warden.jpg

As scary as the image of the Warden looks, according to players who have already
experienced the Deep Dark biome, this new hostile mob is very dangerous. Unlike other
mobs, the Warden is able to track sounds that players make, ending horrifically if caught. The
Warden can only be found in the Deep Dark biome which is located below y-level 0.
New Enchantment: Swift Sneak

Swift Sneak is pretty self-explanatory by its name: players will be able to move faster while
shifting. This is a game-changing enchantment, especially when near the Warden. From the
information already available, Swift Sneak will have a maximum level of three, enchantment
weight of one, and will only be applicable for leggings.
