Massive update: Clans, pets, and more!

Description:
Before I get into my suggestion, I want to point out that I could not have thought of this without the help of NotLoLo1818 NotLoLo1818 , WildAbbee WildAbbee and Shukii Shukii , thank you! I'd also like to thank chocz700 chocz700 , and Andeh Andeh for their cooperation and feedback! Also, this is a pretty long one with a ton of thought put into it, so we'd greatly appreciate it if you read it in its entirety! Now, without further ado, let's get into it.


Hey, I'm here to suggest a major update to BedWars, that will add a ton of content and a reason for players to play the game (yes, this suggestion is made specifically for BedWars, but with some tweaking it could be added to SkyWars as well).

This suggestion expands on the idea of "Clans" suggested by NotLoLo1818 (great suggestion, here's the link: https://jartexnetwork.com/threads/clan-minigames-sw-bw-full-info-commands.88002/).


I will be introducing the following things:

- Clans, clan leaderboards and rewards.

- (a few, more might come) Pets and their perks.

- A minor revamp to the Brain Washer.



Clan leaderboards and their rewards


The idea of clan leaderboards has been mentioned, but we'd like to touch on it with a bit more detail. Below is a list of the rewards given out to clans based on their performance. These rewards are monthly (this means that only the monthly clan leaderboard will distribute rewards across players at the end of every month. the staff team are free to make a seperate, lifetime one, but it shall not give rewards to players).

The Clan leaderboard will give rewards based on the amount of "Clan-Exp" earned that month.


"How does one get Clan-Exp?" Glad you asked, you can find out how to earn Clan-Exp by reading the list below.


- 1 win: 50 Clan-Exp.

- 1 bed destroyed: 20 Clan-Exp.

- 1 final kill: 10 Clan-Exp.


In summary, the Clan who manages to obtain the most amount of Clan-Exp is considered number #1 for that month.

* the pet is not entirely random. There will be a pet rotation system ensuring that a different pet will be awarded to players every month.

** there will be an explanation of what a "Pet Token" is in the following section of the suggestion.


Pets and their perks


We'd like to introduce to you the concept of "Pets". These pets can be activated alongside talents to give you a nice perk in-game (note: you can only activate one pet at a time). Here's a list of what we've come up with so far!


List of pets so far


This assumes maximum pet level is 100, and the default is 1.

Numbers in [] is at level 100

{} is a note.

Level 100 will be almost impossible to get, even for leaderboard players.

We're thinking it will take about 500 games (4 finals per game, 95% wins, 2 beds per game) to get them to level 50.

However, the experience required to level your pet up increases exponentially.

(note: these perks will almost certainly be nerfed/buffed. also, we're still coming up with pets and will be updating the list when we find new fun ones to add. you can send in your own ideas as well. your feedback will be much appreciated!)


Silverfish - +X% chance to give a free level of Maniac Miner when purchasing any diamond upgrade - X = 1 + 0.1 * pet level [X=11]

Ocelot - Increases length of speed from speed talent by X - X is 4 + 0.02 * pet level [X=6]

Witch - Increases length of potions (from drinking only) by X - X is 5 + 0.05 * pet level [X=10]

Zombie Pigman - X% chance to pickup double gold from item generator - X is 0.2 * pet level [X=20] {If you pickup multiple gold, there is a chance for it to trigger multiple times however after every successful trigger the chance for the next one is reduced by 1/2}

Creeper - X% chance for It's a trap! (blindness trap) not to trigger - X is 5 + 0.05 * pet level [X=10]

Skeleton - X% chance to reduce damage dealt from an arrow by 50% - X is 10 + 0.5 * pet level [X=60] {Normal knockback, however}

Villager - +X% chance to trigger Emerald Hoarder talent - X is 3 + 0.04 * pet level [X=7]

Slime - X% chance to give all enemies at your base slowness Y when your bed is broken - X is 10 + 0.4 * pet level, Y is 2, 3 if pet is level 50 or above, 4 if pet is level 75 or above [X=50, Y=4] {Enemies who are using the Slime pet are immune to the debuff}

Iron Golem - Iron Golems are X% cheaper, and deal Y% less damage to you - X is 5 + 0.05 * pet level - Y is 25 + 0.25 * pet level [X=10, Y=50]

Zombie - X% chance to gain an extra Y brains whenever you win a game - X is 20 + 0.3 * pet level - Y is a random integer between 0 and 2 + pet level / 25 [X=50, Y=0-6, AVG: 1.5/win]

Chicken - X% chance to gain an extra Y pet food whenever you win a game - X is 10 + 0.1 * pet level - Y is a random integer between 0 and 1 + pet level / 50 [X=20, Y=0-3, AVG: 0.3/win]

Ghast - X% chance for fireballs to do increased block damage - X is 2.5 + 0.025 * pet level [X=5] {Fireballs have an ExplosionPower tag, so you could add 1 to this}

Rabbit - X% chance to increase jump boost by Y levels when drinking a potion - X is 10 + 0.1 * pet level - Y is 1 + pet level / 3 [X=20, Y=4]

Squid - Gives respiration X, depth strider X and aqua affinity. Reduce damage taken by Y% when in water - X is 1 + pet level / 50 - Y is 10 + 0.1 * pet level [X=3, Y=20]

Enderman - Whenever your ender pearl lands, X% chance to spawn an endermite with Y hp, and if the pet is above level 50, then speed 1. Z% reduced damage from endermites - X is 10 + pet level * 0.25 - Y is 4 + pet level / 12 - Z is 20 + pet level * 0.1 [X=35, Y=12, Z=30]
Goblin - X% chance to steal Y% of your enemies' Gold or Iron ingots stored in their ender chest on kill, with a maximum of 32 iron ingots and 8 gold ingots - X is 2.5 + pet level * 0.1 - Y is 10 + pet level * 0.1 [X=12.5, Y=20]​




Other ideas:



Zombie - X% chance to heal 1 heart from regular kills, Y% chance to heal 1 heart from final kills - X is 0.5 * pet level - Y is 10 + 0.9 * pet level [X=50, Y=100]

Squid - X% chance to get a free additional It's a trap! (blindness) whenever your It's a trap! (blindness) is triggered - X is 15 + 0.1 * pet level [X=25]


How to obtain pets


You can get pets by participating in monthly Clan tournaments and placing top #10. The pet you receive as a reward changes every month. You can also use any excess pet food to purchase pets from a crate similar to the Brain Washer, except instead of using Brains it uses pet food, and instead of giving you cosmetics it gives you pets.


How to level up your pet


You level up your pet by playing games and doing well in them. You can feed your pet "Pet Food" to speed up the process. You can only use 10 Pet Food per pet. (note: only your active pet gains exp)


How to obtain pet food


You can rarely get Pet Food while playing games regularly. However, there are also special ways to get Pet Food. Here's a list:


- 10% chance to get 1 pet food from a final kill

- 15% chance to get 1 pet food from a bed broken

- 80% chance to get 1 pet food from a win

- 100% chance to get 2 pet food from a perfect solo game

- 100% chance to get 2-3 pet food from a perfect doubles/triples/quads game

- 100% chance to get 1 pet food every 5 levels


You can also get pet food from the Brain Washer, more on that later.


What are pet tokens?


You might have noticed we mentioned "Pet Tokens" in Clan rewards. Basically, if you hold a "Gold Pet Token" for example, your active pet will gain exp 25% faster. There will also be lower tier Pet Tokens.


Here's a list of them:


- Gold Pet Token: your active pet gains exp 25% faster.

- Silver Pet Token: your active pet gains exp 15% faster.

- Bronze Pet Token: your active pet gains exp 5% faster.


You can only have one pet token active at a time. If you obtain a higher tier Pet Token than the one you currently have, the Pet Token you have will automatically be replaced.


Pet GUI


We've also already come up with a GUI design for the "Pets" menu. Although it has not been finalised yet, take a look!






I'll explain what's going on:


- The player heads represent the pets you own.

- The barriers represent the pets you do not own.

- The arrows will be used to navigate through different pages of pets.

- The sign will show basic information about pets when hovering your cursor over it.

- The steak will show the amount of pet food you currently have when hovering your cursor over it.

- The nether star will be clickable, it's used to toggle whether or not you want to use a different (random) pet every game.

- The emerald will show you information on Pet Tokens, as well as show you which token is currently active.


Brain washer


This is by far the suggestion with the least amount of content added, but it provides some nice QoL changes.


- Instead of randomly giving a small amount of coins or brains, the Brain Washer now has a chance to give out pet food.

- Instead of refunding coins when you get a duplicate cosmetic, you'll now get back some of the brains you spent. The percentage changes depending on the rarity of said cosmetic. Once again, here's a list of the values:


Bronze brainwasher: common/uncommon/rare/epic duplicate: 3 brains refunded.

Bronze brainwasher: legendary/mythical duplicate: 6 brains refunded.

Silver brainwasher: common/uncommon/rare/epic duplicate: 10 brains refunded.

Silver brainwasher: legendary/mythical duplicate: 13 brains refunded.

Gold brainwasher: common/uncommon/rare/epic duplicate: 18 brains refunded.

Gold brainwasher: legendary/mythical duplicate: 20 brains refunded.


And with that, I'd like to wrap up this suggestion for now. Thank you to everyone who took the time to read through this, and I'd like to hear your feedback! We will post updates here when we come up with new ideas!

How can this idea help to improve JartexNetwork?
A BedWars update is much needed, and we feel like this provides a lot of content and could be very fun.

1. It's neutral for me because I don't like the idea of clans and pets. After all, it's like mixing skyblock with bedwars.
2. Another reason is that the stats you provided, are very low, and almost equal to nothing, and given it takes so much time to upgrade (4 finals per game, 95% wins, 2 beds per game to get them to level 50)
3. The talents are already pretty sufficient, at least for me( For example- Diamond/Emerald Hoarder When upgraded to the max, basically gives 1-2 extra emeralds/diamonds 50% of the time because it is a 20% chance per diamond/emerald, upgrading this even more with pets is too much, and can break the balance of bedwars)
4. People who don't play as much as others have no chance of getting high-level pets

bedwars is extremely lacking in content, and taking inspiration from other gamemodes (which we did not actually) should not be an issue. if something is fun and new, on top of bringing a ton of content, why not add it?

it's meant to be a reward for playing, and this update is meant to last a while. just like with levels, where it's been close to 2 years and noone's hit level 100 yet, this update aims to provide content for the long term.
3. The talents are already pretty sufficient, at least for me( For example- Diamond/Emerald Hoarder When upgraded to the max, basically gives 1-2 extra emeralds/diamonds 50% of the time because it is a 20% chance per diamond/emerald, upgrading this even more with pets is too much, and can break the balance of bedwars)
these pets aren't exactly like talents, there's a few differences. 1) there's way more variety. 2) there's a different way of upgrading them. 3) they're not as broken. we've thought of the pets we have with the idea that they can provide a new level of strategy to the game, it aims to make bedwars more interesting.
4. People who don't play as much as others have no chance of getting high-level pets
that is the point, we want to reward people for playing.

i can accept you not liking them because they aren't op enough, or that they're too op, its stated they need balancing, but, you cant fucking dislike it because its not op enough AND because its too op???????????????????????

Well-written and very interesting idea. I don't know why I have not seen this before. Anyways, I have few questions :

1- what will happen if you lose a game, will you lose Clan-xp?

2- if each pet has its own lvl then it would take more than 15 years to max them all, have you considered this fact?

3- What will happen if a party of 10 players join the game while being in same clan, is not that boosting?

4- Pet tokens has infinite duration or temporal?

yes we have, we want people to strategise, which is more effective when you focus on one pet and base your strategies around it

we can't do anything about that, it's already happening right now for stat boosting, so it'll be the same for clans. if that happens, we could ask the srmods for a potential new rule against it

they would most likely be permanent, but upon further consideration we figure it would be more rewarding if they expire whenever the next season's leaderboard finishes (not sure if i explained it correctly)

Nirahz clan wins clan season 1, gets a gold pet token and is able to use it for that month

WildAbbee clan wins clan season 2, Nirahz clan's gold pet token gets revoked and WildAbbee clan gets to use it for that month

NotLoLo1818 clan wins clan season 3, WildAbbee clan's gold token gets revoked and NotLoLo1818 clan gets to use it for that month, etc
