rarely anyone would go to the far side of the map which is sad cause it's so epic but i guess it's good for escaping and what not.

newer players don't go there that's true, but us veteran use the far side a lot, if that's for running, team fighting or friendly 1v1's

Yes I agree with Fuii its good when trying to 1v1 someone or escape from people but as time passes everyone will notice it and find it useful
