yes when you go in public mines with your god pickaxe and stuff its insanely risky cause you can die this is why you don't go to public mines unless some event idfk just dont bring your god stuff

I think you misunderstood it. He meant public private mine, not PvP Mine, and private mines doesn't have PvP on.
This is a bug, and other people also experiencing the same thing.

If this only happening on private mines, I suggest just avoid it for now and mine on normal or ranked mines instead.

I'm so sorry for your loss and the bug has happened to me aswell, the best thing to do is doing a bug report as The_W as there is no refund for that even though the bug report got accepted.
