how to disable this?

well, this mcmmo ability wouldn't let me place mushrooms normally.

I did a small research, if I do have a brown mushroom then it would consume it and place it by a certain %.
If I succeed, the block will become mycel, which is pointless because I want it to be grass.
If I fail, nothing will happen to the blocks and I will lose two different color mushrooms.
and that sucks.

Second you tried it with a red mushroom, not with a brown one.
If you want them to be placed, you just need a swamp biome or a lower brightness lvl.
They probally disabled it for the red one.

I placed red and brown just fine at some places.
Perhaps brightness level and swamp biome is the key.
I will verify it soonly.

Changed biome to swamp, doesn't help; reduced the light, doesn't help; empowered the light, doesn't help
placed random tree blocks surrounding the mushrooms, does help (strangely, because some mushrooms stand alone with no surrounding blocks)
