How do I activate my coal miner minion

I have setup a 5x5 area but my coal minion doesn't work

you are supposed to clear a 5x5 area around the minion then it will activate automatically

i.e the minion is supposed to be 1 block higher than the 5x5 area

You have to break a 5x5 area around the minion you can also use Minion Fuel to make them produce Ores faster
