question from discord (jartex network)
"According to the National Institution of the Human Strength Index, the human bicep has a force of 160 pounds per inch. We will need this for later. Moving onto the pillow, it has 3 main integral parts. The 2 layers of pillow case, (one either side). The fabric of the pillow itself, (one either side), and the cotton inside the pillow itself. For the sake of the argument, lets say the pillow and the case was constructed of what is known as 'refined silk'. If we look at integrity of silk, its tensile strength is barely above 1 GPA. A standard human with a force of 160 pounds / inch could easilly break through a pillow, however we need to take into account the blunt pen. with my investigations, the curvature of the pen is 0.5mm in length (tyvm google). now we must initiate physics with the pressure equation of pressure =force normal to a surface divided by the area of the surface. the area of the surface of our experiment will be a 20x20 inch surface, that equates to a 400 inch surface area of the pillow. now we need to convert 0.5mm to inches which converts to 0.01968504 inches. divide the first with the second and you are left with 20319.9993 of pressure. this may seem likea lot but in reality, its miniscule. we'd need roughly 40 more ounch/inch force to penetrate with our lack of weaponry so we shall investigate the illegal use of sterioids to boost our performance. before you die of an overdose, you can consume 1,000 mg of Testosterone before you fucking die lmao. with this extra force, you can go through a whole a pillow with 0.2 inch to spare with a standard BIC UK ballpoint pen 10 pack." - ! The argument given by troxity in the pro breakable side is flawed as the bias is too high
let me explain
the argument doesn't explain how thick the pillow cloth is as it can be varying, such as a pillow on a couch.
the vague material of "refined silk" is a weak and unpopular material again proving the bias.
and it does not explain if the pillow is being held up or is lying down, as when it is tight and held it is easier to pierce.
A pen cant go through a pillow.
