Level 4 help not getting exp how to get EXP
Mining ore gives you experience too but its low.So you can kill mobs like like (Blazes,pigmans,villagers ,etc) or you can use [experience V] enchantment or pickaxe. :)- SKY_

how is this fair?
Yes, you can only die on your island except (warzone,fps and boss world).And make sure to disable your fly command when leaving the server.And the items that are lost would have been fallen in the void or server cleaned it as an entity :)- SKY_

How does the artifact shop work?
