why my spawner isnt working? the room is pitch black. the size is 9x9. there are no monsters in the surroundings.what am i supposed to do ?

Just here because why not, also you need to give info about the spawner type and provide an image as people before me have said.

I am going to guess that the spawner you are talking about is either a Cow/Sheep/Pig/Chicken spawner. If this is the case, they need a source of light to spawn either from a torch or a glow stone block. The spawner will also need to be surrounded by grass blocks.
