I want to play with my friend. I invite him to a party then he accepts it. We go into the same lobby and play duos on bedwars. But for some reason it puts me with a random player. Please help. I remember some time ago you could choose which team you would be in like pink or blue. But now i cant.

It is a bug, you can be on the same teams by disbanding the party and making a new one after a few tries or by doing ./leave and then rejoining a game.

1- Some maps are bugged, so keep on trying again
2- Make sure you're using 1.8.9
3- Try promoting your friend (/p promote)
4- Try disbanding the party and make a new one (/p disband) c

Happens to me, if one of you does alt f4 then you won't be on a random team anymore
