I would go to middle, take 2 pearls, take jump pots, ladders and kill him. If you can't get too many emeralds, golems are also a good way for him to get distracted and let you killing him

I would get a jump pot, get a lot of prot and get a pearl if they manage to knock me off.
And if u have loads of iron may as well get a golem
