1.17 afk grinding

There is this thing which you can do in which you switch your version to 1.17 and change your left click to your space and then keep a weight on your space button it then basically auto-clicks for you and if u put a bunch of mob stacks in a hole push them to different corners and stand in the center and look below you, you can afk grind xp.
I know a lot of people who do this but one of my friends recently got banned due to doing this and the ban says he was "auto-clicking" and the server/mods never know if it is the weight or the person holding the button or an auto-clicker so is it allowed to do this?

I believe if some one was banned due to that, they are given the ability to prove themselves other wise which is by giving the moderators/ staff members screen share.
