Introduction
Hello, dear JartexNetwork players!
As part of our ongoing effort to keep our server safe and enjoyable for all the players, we wanted to take a moment to talk about account security. Whether you're a seasoned player or just joined the community, keeping your account safe is absolutely essential — not just for your own fun, but for the safety of everyone on the server.
This thread will provide you with information that will help you make sure your account is safe and secure.

1. Password Security
- Make sure your password is strong consisting of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, characters, and numbers.
- Do not use the same password for multiple accounts.
- Never share your password/account with anyone. Keep in mind JartexNetwork staff members would never ask you to share your password or other personal details with them.
- Also, we suggest not using the same password on other servers, especially smaller ones with low player counts.
- Do not share your password with anyone, friend or sibling, as you will be responsible for any actions they perform on your account or if they steal it.

2. Two Factor Authentication
- For extra security, we recommend you enable 2FA on both the server and the forums to ensure extra protection against your account being compromised. You can do this in-game by doing /2fa enable in the lobby. You can turn on 2FA on the forums by going to -> Your Account -> Password and security -> Two Step Verification.
3. Linking your JartexNetwork account to your Email Address
- Make sure to link your email address to your JartexNetwork account by using the command /email in the lobby.
4. Avoid phishing links and files
- DO NOT click on any links or download files from people you do not know or recognize, as they may be fraudulent or contain malware.
What to do if your account is compromised?
- Firstly, if your account is compromised, you should immediately contact a staff member and ask them to temporarily ban your account for being compromised. You should be able to prove that you are the owner of the account while doing this.
- Secondly, you should reset your password. You can make a password reset request on the forums by clicking Password Reset.
- In case you need any more assistance, contact a SrMod or the Manager either on the forums or Discord and they will help you recover your account.
